In the week following the Spring halving, the token prices have drifted lower, following the broader crypto market, and have spread out and returned to their natural order. Spring traded above both Summer and Autumn on Sunday during the excitement of the halving, and by Tuesday, Spring had returned to its natural place as the cheapest of the four tokens. The prices mostly moved sideways amid light trading over the following days, with Winter and Autumn dropping on Saturday to reach new lows for the week.

Winter started the week at a high of 2.69 cents and ended at 1.83 cents. Spring fell from 2.1 cents to 1.35 cents over the course of the week, closely tracking the price of Summer, which dropped from 2.19 to 1.41 cents over the same period. Autumn decreased from 2.43 to 1.45 cents, leaving the prices of Spring, Summer and Autumn tightly constrained to a narrow band between 1.35 and 1.45 cents at the end of Saturday.

Autumn has continued to be the most volatile of the four prices, showing significant fluctuations on Sunday, Monday and Saturday, while Summer has continued to be the least volatile. Spring’s post-halving burst of volatility had mostly died away by Tuesday, with no price crossovers occurring for the rest of the week.

Spring is now the most expensive token to mine, and is produced at the slowest rate of the four tokens. The price can expected to rise above the other tokens over time, but for the last nine months, Spring has been produced at the fastest rate and is currently the most plentiful token.

This means that, even though Spring is now more attractive to investors and is also the hardest to produce, the market will take time to reflect these new conditions. Miners are adding fewer Spring tokens to the market every day, but, while Spring remains plentiful, that reduction in supply will be offset by investors taking profits whenever the Spring price rises. As a result, Spring is likely to remain the cheapest token until it becomes more scarce in comparison to the other seasons.
